Recently 20 years have passed since the premiere of one of the most defining action movies, completely changing the face of the genre. "The Matrix" is still impressive and subject to countless imitations. At the same time, people still guess whether after the two sequels - "The Matrix: Reloaded" and "The Matrix: Revolutions", another one could follow.
It turns out that Lana and Lili Wachowski are really working on the fourth part. The news were shared by John Wick 3 director Chad Stahelski in an interview during the movie premiere. For those that don’t know, he was Keanu Reeves’ stuntman in the three movies so far, he is also the stunt co-ordinator in both sequels.
"I am very happy that the Wachowskis are not just preparing a sequel to the Matrix but expanding the universe we all love. And if the thing they're working on is approaching the level reached by the previous movies, they'll probably ask me for one of my stunts", says Stahelski.
He added that he is not sure whether the sisters will really direct the future film or they will just be screenwriters and producers. But the director of the John Wick trilogy says that if they need help, he is always available.
Some time ago we reported that Warner had an idea to set a new beginning for the Matrix movies, but the Wachowskis were not part of this project. If they really are involved in such a continuation, the interest in it is certain to be enormous.
